The Clucky Hen
My what I want for Christmas recommendation comes from an Oklahoma designer Daniell Schmitt, her work while durable and beautiful is fashionable art. My grandma, like Daniell’s grandmother made dresses from flour sacks, her work makes me reflect on that time. Daniell and her family represent the American farmer, who just happens to also be a designer.
Daniell’s legacy is created by taking something that would otherwise be thrown away and turning into wearable designer art. Like many families during holiday time, I am always looking for ways to create memories that will remind us of each other all year long. Ever notice how children act as if every Christmas is their first Christmas. As an adult I try to maintain that spirit so every year I buy myself at least one gift. This year my just for me item is from the from the Clucky Hen.
Along with raising cattle and chickens, Daniell is quick to point out “We also raise show pigs. These pigs are raised for 4-H and FFA kids to show at Local, County and state shows all over the state of Oklahoma. On our farm we raise crossbred pigs, many of which can also show as Hampshire and Yorkshire. We take pride in offering the highest quality of animal that will compete at any level of show!”
